Which programs (software) shoud be running in order to make work the infrared port? How can I check that all of the sofware needed is running?

Hi again.

As I achieved to start with the remote working 1 time of 15 this morning, I recorded an easyvdrinfo file with remote working and without working, in case some difference between them can help to solve de issue.

I upload the two files in this post.

Regards.
Javier B.

Hello Javier

First we musst check what's the right event, and if it work's allways.
You can test with this command:

Code:
sudo cat /dev/input/event3

If you press a button on the remote control you must see any output on the terminal.

I'm not sure that event3 ist the right event.

Here can you look for the event number:

[email protected]:~$ sudo cat /dev/input/mice
[email protected]:~$ sudo cat /dev/input/mouse0

Those commands did not return anything when I pressed the remote keys.

Hi again.

May be I just have found out what is happening.

After booting, I have connected by ssh and I have run those commands:
Code:
[email protected]:~$ sudo modprobe -r ite_cir
[email protected]:~$ sudo modprobe ite_cir

And... the remote started working as it should be.

Someone has any idea about how to make the solution persistent after reboot?

Thanks and regards

Hello Javier

I think you need a workaround ...

Code:
sudo su
echo modprobe -r ite_cir >/usr/share/vdr/before-vdr-hooks/1-reloadite_cir
echo modprobe ite_cir >>/usr/share/vdr/before-vdr-hooks/1-reloadite_cir
chmod ugo+x /usr/share/vdr/before-vdr-hooks/1-reloadite_cir

I hope it works

Thank you for your help

Hi, Bleifuss2.
With this workaround easyvdr starts till the screen with the easyvdr boot logo. Remote works, but I can not whatch tv. I only can change to Kodi with pChanger, but if I try to return to vdr, nothing is showed.

I tried this workaround also, and it seem to work. I added in "/etc/rc.local" this:
Code:
sleep 3
modprobe -r ite_cir
sleep 2
modprobe ite_cir

But I do not know if this workaround is permanent, can you tell me if it can be erased/restored (rc.local) after some update?

Thanks a lot and regards.
