Adam,

do you want the processor in there too? First thing is to figure out exactly
what you want, then
figure out what amount of FPGA resources they take up. Then look at the
FPGAs on the
market to see if there is one available with those resources within your
budget.

Plus its also very important to find a good book on FPGA design too, I'm
still looking for a
good one as I'm doing a project similar to yours so if you do find a good
book please let
me know.
