Re: [oc] Spam



Hi all,

A couple of months back there was a period of two months or so when only
list-members were allowed to post. Problem was that many list members were
also sending email from different addresses. To many bounces of legitimate
posts and not a single case of spam. List was again fully opened and in last
4 months this was a second spam post (IIRC). I think we can wait a little
longer before we take some serious actions like fully moderated list etc
(IMO almost all known spam countermeasures have disadvantages). Maybe
checking addresses with those antispam sites that maintain databases of
spammers would help?
