Re: [oc] Reed Solomon Encoder/decoder core requirements
Hi,
I worked on a Reed-Solomon encoder/decoder in VHDL
last year. But it's a pity that is not my personal
property.
Anyway, we made a RS codec to meet ADSL(ANSI
T1.413 issue2) spec. Its codeword length and redundant
bytes length are variable:
Symbol size : 8 bit GF(2^8)
Block size(n) : 255 (max,variable)
Redundant bytes(r) : 0,2,4...16 (k=n-r)
That code did not become silicon, though we had tested
it completely with testbenches.
I'd like to know your progress and support your job.
regards

core requirements
HI Chuck , i think it's better to develop RS Codecs
which meet some
industry standards ,and think we can start with IDR
specs and later DVB
specs.i'll let u know the web site where u can get the
specs , or u can
search the web with keywords IESS , IDR .. .
check the site and mail back ...
bye
