Log file for SPACIT Version 7.1.1. ******************************************************************************** Comments From File: stations.bsp This kernel defines the earth stations at Goldstone CA, Madrid Spain, Canberra Australia, and Usuda Japan. It was created by Bill Taber on October 18, 1995 for use by the Near Earth Asteroid Rendevous mission (NEAR) -------------- IMPORTANT NOTE -------------- To use this SPK file with any other ephemeris file YOU MUST LOAD A TEXT PLANETARY CONSTANTS FILE (PCK) that gives the orientation of the earth with respect to J2000 as a function of time. The coordinates of the sites are taken from the NASA directory of station locations. The satellite tracking and data network (STDN) codes for these locations are: GOLDSTONE --- MADR CANBERRA --- HSKD MADRID --- MADD USUDA --- USUD Note: we report locations only to the nearest meter even though centermeter level knowledge is recorded in the station location directory. Also, although the coordinates used are for particular tracking stations at the various sites, it is intended that these locations refer only to particular geographical regions. For all stations within these geographical regions, the light time to a spacecraft or other object is the same to within 0.0001 seconds.
