Mozilla News 16 June 2000

The Mozilla Project and mozilla.org
Mitchell Baker gives an overview of mozilla.org and the Mozilla project. She answers questions people often ask about what mozilla.org is, how it works, and who participates.

Milestone 16 Released
M16 builds have begun to make their way to the ftp site. Check back later if what you're looking for isn't there yet. New in M16 are skin switching, session history, and autocomplete. Read the release notes for more info.

PSM 1.1 for M16
Add SSL capabilities to your copy of M16 by installing this new version of PSM 1.1 for Mozilla from iPlanet. This replaces an earlier version that expired June 1. This version requires M16 or greater.

Bugzilla 2.10 & Security Advisory
Version 2.10 has been released of Bugzilla, the open source bug tracking system. The security advisory recommends that people running their own bugzilla installation apply a patch or upgrade to version 2.10 and examine their file permissions.

O'Reilly OSS Convention
Join us in Monterey, California this July at the O'Reilly Open Source Software Convention where Mozilla will have its own 'mini-track'.

Milestone 16
M16 is our latest release. Try the Talkback builds on Windows. Talkback automatically reports crash data, helping engineers fix bugs. Be sure to read the release notes.

Nightly Builds
Created most weekdays from the previous day's work, these will probably work, but maybe not. Use them to verify whether a bug you're tracking has been fixed. Macintosh, i386 Linux, Windows, Irix, i386 Solaris, etc.
