SooperLooper is a live looping sampler capable of immediate loop recording,

simultaneous multi-channel loops limited only by your computer's available
memory. The feature-set and operation was inspired by the impressive Gibson
Echoplex Digital Pro (EDP). When used with a low-latency audio configuration
SooperLooper is capable of truly realtime live performance looping.

The application is a standalone JACK client with an engine controllable via OSC
and MIDI.

It also includes a GUI which communicates with the engine via OSC (even over a
network) for user-friendly control on a desktop. However, this kind of live
performance looping tool is most effectively used via hardware (midi
footpedals, etc) and the engine can be run standalone on a computer without a
monitor.

+Des:
Foxtrot is an easy and powerful API to use threads with the JavaTM Foundation
Classes (JFC/Swing).

The Foxtrot API are based on a new concept, the Synchronous Model, that allow
you to easily integrate in your Swing code time-consuming operations without
incurring in "GUI-freeze" problem, typical of Swing applications.

While other solutions have been developed to solve this problem, being the
SwingWorker (see also here for an update) the most known, they are all based on
the Asynchronous Model which, for non-trivial Swing applications, carries
several problems such as code asymmetry, bad code readability and difficult
exception handling.

The Foxtrot API cleanly solves the problems that solutions based on the
Asynchronous Model have, and it's simpler to use.

Your Swing code will immediately benefit of:
* code symmetry and readability
* easy exception handling
* improved mantainability

=Sum: QuickSwitch - Roaming network profiles for Unix/Linux Laptops.
+Des:
QuickSwitch is a little utility that lets linux/Unix laptop users create and
use roaming network profiles. Instead of individually reconfiguring the network
card, changing DNS entries, hosts files etc. it lets you create one centralized
file for all your different profiles. So if you keep moving around with your
laptop (like myself) and have to keep reconfiguring everything over and over
again; this might just make your life a wee bit easier. QuickSwitch also lets
you configure all your network settings over the command line (in one line),
including the default route and DNS addresses. This saves you the hassle
of going out and editing files one by one.

QuickSwitch has been around since early 2000 and is now the most widely used
utility of its kind.

QuickSwitch is a winner of DaveCentral's Best of Linux Award and also in
Linux.com's "Best of Linux" Archive.

=Pkg: ripmake 1.39 0.oc2pus.3 noarch
=Sum: A fully automatic command line ripping makefile generator for transcode
+Des:
The idea of ripmake is to write a tool which automatically (i.e. with as few
user interaction as possible) selects the best parameters for a given ripping
task.
It should inspect the source (e.g. a DVD or an AVI file), extract all important
information, calculate the missing parameters and generate a parameter set for
transcode that will create an output file of high quality.

First I thought of a tool that performs all the necessary steps itself and
calls transcode for the real work. But I soon found out that often a bit of
manual intervention is required to achieve the best results. So a different
approach came to my mind: Why not write a tool that generates a makefile for
the rip and that embeds all automatic options as parameters in it. You can then
call different rules for different rip tasks (e.g. render a sample, render
whole movie...) and you can overwrite the parameters by redefining the make
variables.

So here it is: ripmake - A makefile generator for your ripping tasks.

This package contains Rake, a simple ruby build program with capabilities

Rake has the following features:
Rakefiles (rake's version of Makefiles) are completely defined in standard Ruby
syntax. No XML files to edit. No quirky Makefile syntax to worry about (is that
a tab or a space?)

Users can specify tasks with prerequisites.

Rake supports rule patterns to sythesize implicit tasks.

Flexible FileLists that act like arrays but know about manipulating file names
and paths.

A library of prepackaged tasks to make building rakefiles easier.

=Pkg: swing-worker 20050620 0.oc2pus.1 noarch
=Sum: SwingWorker enables proper use of Event Dispatch Thread in Swing-classes
+Des:
When writing a multi-threaded application using Swing, there are two
constraints to keep in mind:
(refer to How to Use Threads for more details):

* Time-consuming tasks should not be run on the Event Dispatch Thread.
  Otherwise the application becomes unresponsive.
* Swing components should be accessed on the Event Dispatch Thread only.

These constraints mean that a GUI application with time intensive computing
needs at least two threads:
1) a thread to perform the lengthy task and
2) the Event Dispatch Thread (EDT) for all GUI-related activities. This
involves inter-thread communication which can be tricky to implement.

SwingWorker is designed for situations where you need to have a long running
task run in a background thread and provide updates to the UI either when done,
or while processing.

The original SwingWorker version was published back in 1998 by Hans Muller
and Kathy Walrath. Since that time a number of modified SwingWorkers were
published. The last version we are aware of was published by Joseph Bowbeer.

Swing team got a number of request to include SwingWorker into the swing
package. In jdk1.6 javax.swing.SwingWorker was introduced.

=Sum: API and UI to develop wizards in Swing easily
+Des:
Provides a simple API and UI for Wizards, a commonly used UI pattern in GUI
interfaces. Traditionally, everybody has needed to write their own Wizards from
scratch, and such code is painful and hard to get right.

This library aims to provide a simple, relatively bulletproof API for writing
Wizards. The UI for Wizards is pluggable; the default implementation conforms
to the JLF usability guidelines for Wizards.

This library was designed as a replacement for NetBeans' Wizards API, and takes
into account the long history of that API and problems encountered with it over
the years. It provides a simple, easy-to-use solution that enables any Swing
application to provide Wizards with a minimum of code and effort.
