---- New: The 'os-dist' subdirectory contains fairly complete signature databases for certain versions of SunOS. See the README file in that directory. ---- This directory contains updated signature files for the tiger security auditing system for UNIX. The filenames are of the form: os:major_release:release:[optional_arch][--optional_id] The script 'installsig' can be used to install the signature files, or they can simply be copied into the correct directory under the name 'signatures'. Note that an updated explanation file is not provided, so the explain tags will be useless. ***** 12/23/93 note An updated installsig has been provided in this directory which does not depend on the filename. In addition, it is capable of creating "new" platform directories. This can be used to install the SunOS 5.3 signature file. The information necessary for installing the signatures/ creating the platform directory are stored as comments at the top of the signature file. Just run 'installsig filename'. (This version of installsig comes with tiger-2.2.2 and later) I have continued to use the "wierd" filenames for those who wish to use the old installsig. I will phase this out and use a more practical naming scheme. *****
