nachdem ich mal wieder in einen FSCK rein gelaufen bin, hab ich mich nach neuen LiveCD´s umgeschaut, die möglichst klein und dabei noch Komfortabel sind!

Dabei ist mir Parted Magic aufgefallen, das Ding hat ca 35 MB und hat alles Wichtige was mann so braucht um ein System wieder an den Start zu bringen, nachdem mann "rumgespielt" hat.

Wie das Meiste unter Linux, ist partedmagic eine Open-Source Software, die unter GPL steht !!, hat einen Vesa X-Server an Board, und kann somit bequem mit der Maus bedient werden, für die M$ verwöhnten wie mich  ;D

Die Version 2.0 gibt es jetzt!

The latest version is updated with: Linux 2.6.23.13, Parted 1.8.8, ntfsprogs-2.0.0, ntfs-3g-1.913, and VisParted-2.0.

2/11/08 - Parted Magic 2.0 is finally released! See the changelog for most of the small details. I'll talk about the cool stuff most people will care about here. GParted has been forked to VisParted to add features GParted doesn't have. VisParted can read and write volume labels for most supported file systems. Point and click disk wiping was added. Please be careful because you will not get the files back if a mistake is made. When you mount a partition with VisParted a window of Thunar will open at the selected location as well as mounting it. Desktop icons are automatically created for mounting CDROM/DVDs and USB flash drives. The boot menu is all new and all the boot options can be displayed by hitting <F1>. Networking and Firefox were added to surf the web for help and to view the online documents. A simple 7zip package management system was created so users can add their own stuff with little effort. The entire system has been revamped with a unique booting system without changing the basic look and feel of past versions. Be sure the look at the syslinux.cfg because GRUB will no longer work with 1.9 stanza.

ich denke der Link ist für Leute, die PartedMagic nicht kennen, wirklich nütztlich, da PartedMagic sehr praktisch ist.

Noch viel besser, und für mich das entscheindende:
partedmagic ist eine Open-Source Software, die unter GPL steht !!

Auch Microsoft verschenkt etliche Software..... Anpassungen und Erweiterungen sind jedoch bei Closed-Source so gut wie ausgeschlossen und eine Integration in Linux-Distributionen ebenfalls nur selten möglich.... easyVDR wäre mit freeware niemals denkbar. (Unter freeware verstehe ich Software, die frei verwendet werden kann, aber nicht unter einer "anständigen" Lizenz steht und nicht im Quelltext vorliegt)

Hallo,

ich habe mir das gestern gleich mal geladen und war beim ersten Test erst mal überrascht.
Das Ding ist ja viel mehr als als nur ein Partitions Tool ( wie ich aus dem Namen: Parted Magic geschlossen hatte ).

Die ideale Hilfe wenn ich easyVDR mal wieder "zu Tode" konfiguriert habe.
