Where to get Sather

Linux

If you run Debian GNU/Linux or RedHat Linux go to ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/sather/.

Windows

A Windows NT/2000 port of Sather 1.2 is available at http://www.cs.waikato.ac.nz/sather/sather-w/index.html. This port includes support for:
  • The runtime and memory garbage collector
  • Sockets
  • TCL/TK interface
  • ActiveThreads
The only parts which are not ported are the FORTRAN and distributed extenisions.

MacOS

David Wright modified the standard Sather compiler to generate C code that the Metrowerks Codewarrior can use. The user interface is a combination of SIOUX and drag and drop (DropUnix). E-mail David if you are intersted in his work: David.Wright@NO.SPAM.utas.edu.au (Remember to remove the "NO.SPAM." first).

OS/2

Lars Hupfeldt Nielsen <lhn@mobilixnet.dk> ported the serial version of GNU Sather to OS/2. Email him if you would like his changes.

Java

Erik Schnetter <eschnett@chandra.astro.psu.edu> modified the Sather 1.1 compiler to have a Java back end. It is available at http://www.tat.physik.uni-tuebingen.de/~schnette/Sather/Sather-1.1-jcode-b5.tar.gz

Source Code

You may get the source code from ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/sather/.
