Sounds like the old problem: The GC 4.12 shipped with 1.2b does not work for
Linux. Just get the newest version from
        http://reality.sgi.com/boehm/gc.html
(4.13 should do, 4.14alpha works fine for me, too)
Replace the whole directory in System/Common/GC and try again. That might
help.
