The Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) is looking for interns to join our team, beginning from March 2007, for the Switzerland based internship and from July 2007, for the Sweden based one.
FSFE operates in a lively environment of numerous volunteers from many countries and several full-time employees. The geographic focus of the internships will be Zürich, Switzerland and Goteborg, Sweden.
Before starting with the details, a few words from former FSFE interns:
"FSFE is involved in the most important processes on how Information
Society is being shaped, be it on a national, European, or on a global
level. It's exciting to be part of these activities."
Alexander Finkenberger
"If you've followed my blog,
you will have an idea of what I did
with my time. The FSFE is a great place to work, and I've enjoyed almost
every single day. In few other companies or organisations would I have
had the chance to do useful work and learn in an international context
like I did here. Take this chance, if you can."
Karsten Gerloff
The intern will work as the only dedicated full-time office person of FSFE, as well as take the role of an assistant to FSFE's president. This involves - among many other tasks - implementation of PR activities and communication with contacts from the community, NGOs, and industry, as well as general office tasks. The intern will coordinate volunteers and FSFE team members during work on various projects. She or he will also manage the president's travel plan and occasionally accompany the president on his travels.
Everybody fulfilling the above criterions, it doesn't matter if you are an computer science, law, economic, social or political student; we like diversity to get new ideas.
One intern will be based in FSFE's office in Zurich, Switzerland and one will be based in Goteborg, Sweden. This is a full-time job. You have been warned. Please direct your application (in English) containing a letter of motivation, a CV and references, as well as any questions you might have, to:
